Dear Highways England
I am writing to ask that the signs painted on the B road entering the roundabout with the A5 north of Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire, are reviewed.
Currently, the markings on the road indicate 3 lanes approaching the roundabout for going straight ahead, (see attachment) but the other side of the roundabout only has one lane for exiting the roundabout. This is dangerous.
Surely, there should only be one lane marked up for journeys going across the roundabout?
Additionally, there has been an accident on this road where a young man was killed.
Would it not be more appropriate to have hatch lines on the A5 for the fast traffic approaching this roundabout in either direction?
Like this?
I wish to report debris on A5 at Thorn, Houghton Regis, per location map
I wish to report crash barrier damaged (see 1.jpg) at the location shown .
This is a 70mph spur road, 3 lanes wide leading to M1 J11A.
(Note: Not sure at this point whether the last issue is for CBC or Highways England. The A5505 is not currently shown on any of the maps that CBC use for public online reporting so it is very difficult to report anything on them. UPDATE 13-8-2018: Confirmed that the last problem belongs to CBC and they are going to see about repairing it, ref JC)
